ADOPTED – POLLYWOG (aka POLLY)

Female, 5 months. 20 lbs

POLLYWOG (POLLY) AUG 2021

ADOPTED –

POLLYWOG (AKA Polly) is a darling and small 5-month-old girlie who weighs about 20 pounds.  She is a gentle pup, but don’t let her demure looks fool you: she can turn on the border collie drive when she sees something that catches her interest like cattle, sheep, ducks, and the other dogs in her foster home.  This girl needs something to do.  Polly was with her litter for a longer time than is usual, so she is a little shy with people and still looks to other dogs for confidence and comfort. She goes to work with her foster dad every day, as she continues to need support in meeting new people and being without the dogs at home.  And she loves learning new things, and finds treats and toys very motivating.  She is also learning the beginning “games” taught in nose work, which increases her confidence and focus.  Polly is crate-trained and is almost 100% housebroken.

Polly would like a forever home with someone who has border collie, training, and socialization experience.  That sounds like a tall order, but Polly rewards any and all efforts by building trust quickly and by an eagerness to learn.  She would like a home that is going to provide her a “job” or some kind of outlet for her smarts and energy.  Another dog in the home would be fine, but she is too keen for cats.

POLLY is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be altered when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue Application (or apply here – https://ncbcrdev.ituldev.com/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to enquire about CODY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
