ADOPTED – PANCAKE

Female, 2 Years, 50 lbs

PANCAKE

Say “hello” to PANCAKE, a 2-year-old former mama dog, whose beautiful puppies have all found their forever homes.  Now it’s Pancake’s turn to find her forever home.  Pancake’s favorite part of being a mom to her pups was the stage in which she could play with them.  It was as if she turned back into a puppy herself.  And we’ve seen that playful enthusiasm in her interactions with the other adult dogs & puppies in her foster home.  She is also very kind.  When another dog or puppy in her foster home seems unsure or in need of support & comfort, Pancake is right there to help.  When she was in the vet clinic for her spay, she checked in on the other dogs in the kennel, quietly “talking” with them & leaning toward them.  The whole hospital staff loved her.

PANCAKE has nice house manners.  She is quiet; in fact, we’ve never heard a peep out of her.  She is crate-trained, both for sleeping & for riding in the car, & she has never had an accident in her foster home.  When she came into rescue, she had obviously never been on a leash, & “pancaked” on the ground.  While she is not brilliantly leash-trained, she walks nicely on a leash & is utterly comfortable with one now.  Pancake lives in a quiet, semi-rural neighborhood in her current foster home, so she doesn’t have experience with a more city-like atmosphere with its noises & lots of people.  She might have to get used to that kind of environment slowly.  She is an active dog, but not crazily energetic like most young border collies & border collie mixes.  She enjoys walks, & playing in the backyard, & seems content with that.  Pancake is treat-motivated, but she hasn’t had a chance to learn about toys.  Treats will help make training easier.  While Pancake is lovely with other dogs & pups, she is too keen about cats & chickens, so we want to place her in a cat & chicken-free home.

PANCAKE weighs about 50#.

PANCAKE is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about PANCAKE, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

PANCAKE is fostering north of Sacrament County, CA.
