Adopted – Maverick

Male, 4 Months, 23 lbs

MAVERICK JUN 2021

Say a big Hello! To our 4 month old male pup MAVERICK! Our happy, bouncy puppy came into rescue full of energy and typical puppy curiosity! He loves to play and explore everywhere, bug his foster brother and sisters, follow mom and dad around, then, as a typical pup, he plops down wherever he is and takes a good refreshing nap! MAVERICK is a black and white medium coat border collie and we have no clue as to his background circumstances or why he ended up in a shelter. He is neutered, has been given his vaccines, is on heartworm preventative, and is now microchipped. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate overnight. MAVERICK is very affectionate and loves to cuddle, be petted and tummy tickles are a must! MAVERICK weighs in at 23lbs….and growing!

MAVERICK loves to play with his toys. He can be seen carrying around stuffed animals and shaking them as if they were alive. He loves to tug and wrestles with our 2 year old Gael play biting her neck and warding off her play biting. Keep away is another favorite game and pulling things out of the wastepaper basket in any room is a TOP favorite! He is cat curious but we have a very dog savvy cat so she isn’t worried as MAVERICK isn’t aggressive, just curious!

MAVERICK is working on being housebroken having had a couple of early accidents in his foster home he now is doing quite well at doing his business ‘outside’. MAVERICK will do a bit of excavating AKA digging, but he responds to correction quite well. He does bark in excitement but not excessively, MAVERICK also does like to steal shoes and socks. He is not a stealthy thief and if you ae paying attention you can retrieve your footwear before it is the worse for wear. He gets along with absolutely everyone even loves the ducks that reside on our property.

MAVERICK is ready for his new adventure! He has packed his rucksack and it is sitting by the door. He is waiting for you turn into the driveway and collect him to come home and meet his new forever family. We will miss him a lot but it is time to begin his new adventures and explore his new surroundings, meet his new family and get on with his lifetime adventure!

MAVERICK is  micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about MAVERICK, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

MAVERICK is being fostered in Auburn in Placer County, CA.
