Adopted – Cooper

Male, 1 year, 25 lbs

COOPER NOV 2021

Say hello to our sweet little COOPER, a 1yr old BC mix. He is a great size at 25lbs and has a creamy white smooth coat with a 1/3 cropped tail. COOPER is a soft boy who loves his people, other dogs and cats alike. He gets along great with everyone and would be happiest in a home with other dogs and cats. He really loves the cats in his foster home. During the day he plays with them (gently) and cuddles with them in the evenings on the couch. His foster mom has never seen a dog who loves cats so much. He also loves to play and wrestle with the other dogs as well.

COOPER was a little bit shy at first, but is coming around very nicely with a gentle hand and lots of cuddle time. He has decent leash manners and has learned some basic commands like sit and wait. His recall needs some work and he will need to continue with basic training. COOPER is a medium energy boy who requires daily exercise. He settles down well in the house once he has had some play time or a long walk. He would make a great running or hiking partner.

COOPER was a little nervous in the car at first, but now he loads up easily and rides fine. He can be a little shy in new situations, but with encouragement he will wag his stubby little tail furiously and join in the fun. He had a couple accidents in the house in the first couple days but is fully potty trained now and uses the dog door when he needs to go out. He is a young boy and would need to do basic potty training in a new home.  Because he is young, he will chew things around the house if left unsupervised for long periods. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night and goes in on his own when its bedtime. He is fine with being crated for a couple hours during the day as well when his foster mom is away.

He likes toys and shows some interest in balls but is more interested in playing with the other dogs. He will take treats but is more praise motivated. Overall COOPER is a sweet, soft boy who is an easy keeper and will make a wonderful companion.

COOPER is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about COOPER, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

COOPER is being fostered in Folsom in Sacramento County, CA.
